This is two standard Kodak AA NiMH batteries packed into a 'proprietary' dual battery pack requiring their proprietary charger, and is totally unnecessary and very expensive for your Kodak camera.
Don't use speciality battery packs like this Kodak dual. All Kodak cameras use standard AA NiMh individual batteries in pairs or fours. Buy them individually. The best, at 1/3 the cost of this pack, is the Hybrid NiMH type like Kodak Precharged(white type), Sanyo Eneloop, or Rayovac Hybrid. They come ready to use and are charged using any standard AA battery charger, including the one that came with your Kodak Camera. The bigger advantage is they do not self-discharge anywhere near as fast as standard NiMH batteries. Don't by off-brand 'Digital' or other china junk batteries and chargers.
Individual standard AA should fit fine in your Kodak EasyShare Charger, but this charger is a dumb timed charger that can reduce the useable life of your expensive batteries anyway. This is because it does not know when your batteries are fully charged and can overcharge them heating(aging)them up.
Buy a modern 'Smart', or sometimes called 'Fast', charger that charges and monitors each battery for a full charge individually, not in series like dumb timed chargers. Sanyo Eneloop is a good choice here on Amazon for battery and smart charger combos.
Ween yourself off Kodak's, on any other manufacturers, speciality battery 'packs' and chargers. They will kill your pocketbook and batteries. Invest in universally useable batteries and a smart charger for use in all standard home application for batteries like any and all cameras, toys, radios, CD players etc. Sanyo Eneloop battery and charger packages even come with converter adapters that allow you to use AA batteries in you C and D battery applications as well. This covers 'all' your home bases.

I have had this camera for a few weeks now and I really like it. In fact I like it better than my digital SLR for the most part. I purchased this because I am a mom and I like to take pictures of my kids when we are out. It really isn't practical to haul an SLR to the park, Disney, etc.So I did a lot of research and went with this one. I love that you can watch the pictures in HD on your TV. It takes good video for a camera (not really an issue for me because I have a video camera.I am very impressed with the overall picture quality. Also the camera has tons of modes to take pictures in and my favorite feature of the camera is that you can crop the picture right there on the camera. Finally, I love that these cameras come in colors it helps make the camera standout so you don't forget it or get it confused at parties.

Anyway I am very impressed so far. I only gave it 4 stars because I haven't had it that long.

I have only had the camera for a couple of days and I'm already very pleased with it. Takes wonderful pictures right out of the box in the Auto mode, but there are many different features that I will have to play around with. The 12x zoom is perfect for catching objects from a distance and the Image Stabilizer works wonders.I have tried to shake the camer while taking the picture and it has still came out great.

A few things to know before buying: The camera does not have an electronic viewfinder, so sometimes in direct light(sun)it may be hard to view the LCD screen. It also uses 3 different types of batteries KLIC-8000 (rechargeable Li Ion), CRV3 (Non rechargeable Li Ion), and it also takes 2 AA litium Ion batteries. If you buy the KLIC-8000 battery you have to purchase a separate charger, you cannot charge the battery in the camera.

If you are looking for a big zoom camera that will fit in your pocket this is not the camera for you.

Bought this for my 9 year old daughter and it seems to be a good value. Had some trouble getting it to power up at one point and found that it didn't work well on regular alkaline AA batteries and had to get Kodak's batteries.

Overall a good lower end camera.

Hi I just thought I would like to rate this camera because I read a couple bad things about it and they are probably the user fault not the cameras. It has lot of options when it comes to taking pictures and also had lots of easier options for the people who are not that good at digital cameras. I also like the fact that you can crop rotate and enhance your pictures right on the camera instead of downloading them and doing them on another program. I love the color. It also came with a battery charger and the batteries have lasted above expectations.

Someday though I hope to use this camera for all of it abilites there is a lot of thigs you can do.

I have had this camera for about 2 months now and I am still LOVING this camera. it has 10.3 megapixels (really shoots at 10mp) and an amazing deal for that. takes great quality pictures every time. i've only had a blurry picture when it was completely my fault (i accidently moved my arm before it was shot, etc etc) the zoom is nice as well.

A nice feature is the panorama shots which stiches pictures taken together! I would definitly recommend this to everyone looking for a new camera.

I pre-ordered this camera and was so excited to receive it!I already own a Kodak easyshare Z612 which takes beautiful, high detail photos at only 6 MP, but I was looking for a more "pocketable" camera because the sheer size of the z612 keeps me from taking my camera with me and taking as many photos as I'd like. So, I went with the M1063 because of it's slim design, it's array of features (scene selection, HD, etc.), upgrade in MP's, and it's PINK!
When it finally arrived, I immediately started snapping away...only to find that on the on-camera screen, the pictures didn't look very sharp at all.In fact, many of them looked grainy...some looked dark (as if I hadn't used a flash)...and unfocused.I also noticed that the "face detection" technology never really seemed to pick up any of the faces I was trying to take pictures of! I thought maybe it was just the little screen and things would look better on my monitor, but once I uploaded them to my computer, they only looked worse. Magnified to 100% and you can really see how unfocused and grainy the pictures really are!Now if 6 MP was detailed, I certainly expected 10.3 MP to be SHARP...but I find that these photos are LESS DETAILED than my 6 MP photos! Take a picture of my cat with the z612, and you can see each individual hair...use this camera, and it's just a confusion of black and white fur.The only photos that seem to come out decent are ones taken within an arms length; beyond that, it's a mess.
If it weren't for the mere fact that you can enlarge these past 4 X 6, I'd say I can take better photos with my iphone. Sigh.
It's a pretty camera and has nice features, but it simply doesn't deliver on the Kodak quality I've come to expect. I'm going to be returning it.

This camera replaced my old F10 Fuji Finepix.I had several cameras (Fuji/Canon/Olympus) but this is the first time I'm trying out Kodak (cheapest HD camera I've found that allow zoom during movie recording mode)


I took two stars away from it for two reasons:
1. Macro shooting mode is horrible. It won't shoot at close range at all comparing to other cameras I have had. I was able to shoot a nice close up at 1 inch range with Fuji and Olympus but this Kodak Easyshare will not focus and get blurry as soon as the lense is in the 6 inch range from object. I returned and exchange my Easyshare once because I thought the first one was broken.I was surprised to learn that this camera will not do a close up shot.
2. Movie recording length is limit to 29 minutes when shooting in HD.I read on Kodak website and it says "80 minutes" and I misunderstood.80 minutes max ... at lowest resolution - that is :(
There are many good things about this camera. It uses SD card.It records very nice HD quality video (picture/sound). It can zoom in recording mode (Fuji does not). It takes good pictures (12MP). Battery life is pretty good.Forget Sony Handycam, get this Z1285 instead and have a blast with HD video recording!

If you are looking for a thin small camera like this, this is the one to buy! If your pix are dark, retake them with the ISO setting. You can take pix in b%26w, sepia also.

A decent enough camera with two things that will bug you. My old easyshare camera came with an RCA cable that plugged into the camera's tiny USB out. this made for easy viewing on any TV. The C813 does not and I don't think any of the new Easyshares do. Even if you take the cable from an older model and plug it into the C813's USB out, nothing happens.
The other thing that bugs me about this camera is no speaker for playback of videos,Maybe I've just been lucky, but all my old cameras had a speaker (if they shot vids).

This review is for Kodak EasyShare C813 8.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom, This camera is no frills easy to use point and shoot camera which I consider good if you pay less than $100.
Remember Digital camera such as this does not come with SD/SDHC Memory card, The Internal 16MB memory is good only for 3-4 pictures, So you must always consider the cost of SD/SDHC memory card and a good set of Sanyo 2,700 mAh AA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (4-Pack) into the cost before you make your decision in buying it.
With careful shopping around (online and local superstores), you can get the camera and much needed accessories reviewed here for the price quoted above.

Kodak EasyShare C813 8.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom is a product with mixed bags of goodies and some quirks, however for a casual user none of the cons mentioned above does really matter if you can find this camera for a bargain price! Go get it!
